Angels Power Rankings Roundup: Week 21
Below is a graph of where the Angels have ranked over the course of the season.
And here is what Power Rankers are saying about the Angels this week:
Angels ranked 25th - "The club's 11-game losing streak tied the franchise record for futility set three times previously (1972, 1992, 1999). The Angels are 20 games under .500 for the first time since 1999."
Angels ranked 27th - In Jonah Keri’s weekly power rankings he selects four teams to write about. Although your team was not chosen this week, Jonah’s work is well worth the read.
Angels ranked 26th - "Must avert last-place finish without A's-killer Johnny Giavotella, who was DFA'd."
Angels ranked 27th - "The Los Angeles Angels split a four-game series with the streaking Seattle Mariners last week before dropping two of three to the New York Yankees over the weekend.
It was a busy day for transactions on Saturday.
The club designated Johnny Giavotella for assignment, optioned Ji-Man Choi to the minors and placed Yunel Escobar on the seven-day concussion disabled list.
Those three were replaced by Kaleb Cowart, C.J. Cron and A.J. Achter, as the team will now carry an extra pitcher while welcoming Cron back to the starting lineup and plugging in Cowart in place of Escobar at third base.
Albert Pujols is not having the best year of his career by an stretch of the imagination, but he's been hot of late and now has 36 RBI in 34 games since the All-Star break."
Angels ranked 26th - "Only 38 more games of this slog to rigor mortis."
