Brewers Power Rankings Roundup: Week 9
Below is a graph of where the Brewers have ranked over the course of the season.
And here is what Power Rankers are saying about the Brewers this week:
Brewers ranked 25th - "Milwaukee went on a small hot streak where they won four consecutive games, thanks in large part to their dependable bullpen (2.88 ERA in the last seven days through Saturday). "
Brewers ranked 25th - In Jonah Keri’s weekly power rankings he selects four teams to write about. Although your team was not chosen this week, Jonah’s work is well worth the read.
Brewers ranked 23rd - "Aaron Hill flashes 1.087 OPS in May."
Brewers ranked 24th - "The Milwaukee Brewers took care of business against two of the worst teams in baseball last week, sweeping the Atlanta Braves and taking two of three from the Cincinnati Reds to prove they are a tier above those cellar-dwelling clubs.
It was also another big week for shortstop Jonathan Villar.
Acquired from the Houston Astros during the offseason in exchange for right-hander Cy Sneed, Villar was expected only to keep the shortstop position arm for Orlando Arcia, but instead he's one of the biggest surprises of the season so far.
The 25-year-old is hitting .307/.409/.426 with 15 doubles, and with four more stolen bases last week, his MLB-leading total in that category is up to 18.
Even if he doesn't have a long-term place on the team, he now joins Ryan Braun and Jonathan Lucroy as a high-end trade chip once July rolls around."
