Twins Power Rankings Roundup: Week 21
Below is a graph of where the Twins have ranked over the course of the season.
And here is what Power Rankers are saying about the Twins this week:
Twins ranked 29th - "Against the defending champs, the Twins have stood no chance. After dropping four straight in Kansas City, Minnesota is now 2-11 against the Royals this year. "
Twins ranked 28th - In Jonah Keri’s weekly power rankings he selects four teams to write about. Although your team was not chosen this week, Jonah’s work is well worth the read.
Twins ranked 29th - "24-22 since July 1."
Twins ranked 28th - "The Minnesota Twins closed out last week by being swept in a four-game series with the Kansas City Royals, as the struggles continued for the AL's worst team.
It has not showed up in the win column, but the experience rookies Max Kepler, Jorge Polanco, Jose Berrios and J.T. Chargois are getting should pay dividends in the long run.
Polanco in particular has quietly been terrific, hitting .304/.347/.429 with 10 extra-base hits and 11 runs scored in 34 games. He's taken over as the team's primary shortstop and No. 2 hitter since the team moved Eduardo Nunez at the deadline.
The Twins look to play spoiler this coming week with series against a pair of contenders in the Detroit Tigers and Toronto Blue Jays."
Twins ranked 29th - "The good news - we haven't lost to a non-Royals team since August 11. The bad news - the only other team we've played in that time is the Braves."
